Tax attorney Christopher Rizek will speak at Virginia CLE's 77th Annual Virginia Conference on Federal Taxation, a hybrid program addressing current issues in federal tax law and practice. His presentation will focus on common ethics issues in tax controversy matters and examine the overlapping rules governing practitioners under the Internal Revenue Code, Circular 230, and state bar or certified public accountant (CPA) licensing standards. Mr. Rizek will also address questions involving competence, confidentiality, conflicts, due diligence, discovery and fees, as well as proposed changes to Circular 230 and their potential effects on tax controversy practice moving forward.
