Policy Minute: Energy Finance Opportunities with the Government

In this Eyes on Washington Policy Minute, Government Energy Finance Team member Taite McDonald explains how energy and clean technology companies can develop and execute strategies for access to government grants, loans and contracts across multiple state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Defense (DOD).

For early-stage companies, leveraging non-dilutive funding along with existing private capital can be an effective method of advancing their energy technologies and solutions.

For larger companies, Ms. McDonald suggests low-cost financing, grant funding or creative deal structures to advance innovative technologies in a way that may not progress without participation from the federal government.

Recent energy finance grant and funding information can be found on Holland & Knight's GovEnergyFinance.com blog.
