Building Your Future at Holland & Knight: The Summer Associate Experience

2025 Summer Associate Program

Through our Summer Associate Program, Holland & Knight provides dedicated law students an opportunity to gain real-world experiences and explore different practice areas within our firm, preparing them for a successful and fulfilling career. We work diligently to provide each student mentorship, networking opportunities and experiences working with accomplished attorneys on complex matters for clients.

In this video, 14 members of our 2025 summer associate class provide an inside look at their experiences this summer.

Ryan Cantrell: My Holland & Knight summer associate experience has been nothing short of amazing.

Matthew DegliObizzi: Everyone wants you to succeed. Everyone wants to give you substantive work.

Claire Konerza: It's just been overwhelming how supportive the attorneys and staff have been. It's really created a space that, you know, I feel like I can stay at for a long time.

Jack Scribner: I chose Holland & Knight because I felt that they really pursued me as much as I pursued them during my recruiting process. They really made an intentional effort to get to know me as a person, and they really were just genuine in everything that they did. I feel like sometimes in the pre-recruiting and the recruiting process for summer associate gigs you really kind of feel like you're a cog in the machine or a second choice, and Holland & Knight really was intentional in making it known that I was their choice.

Grace Mohlin: From the recruiting process to the interviewing, there was such a collaborative environment at Holland & Knight that I felt was really exemplified through everyone that I talked to before deciding on Holland & Knight. People weren't proud of just their work, but really they were proud of the people that they got to work with. And I found that really meaningful to me in my experience for something, that I was looking to be at a firm with that kind of collaborative team-like culture, and couldn't be more true from my experience this summer.

Daniel Gonzalez: Over the past couple of months, I've learned so much, and I've connected with so many amazing people that I'm really excited to have in my network and just get to know moving forward. You hear these horror stories about Big Law and things like that, but I really don't have a bad thing to say about my experience so far at Holland & Knight.

Tej Munshi: I think the ability to get to know partners on a more personal level and get to know them not only for the work they do and how they've gotten to where they are, but who they are as people and what makes them the attorneys that they are ‑ I think that is something I wasn't necessarily expecting to get, and that's probably been my favorite part of the summer.

Felicity Wang: I think I'm really fortunate to work with a team that's so generous with their time and puts a great emphasis on mentorship and providing feedback. I really also appreciate the efforts that Holland & Knight goes to providing resources to ensure that the summer associates are equipped to really meaningfully contribute to their team.

Grace Tinsley: I have really great mentors, and I feel like they've really helped me get integrated into the firm and helped me to get projects, and that's something I've really enjoyed about the summer.

Claire Konerza: I think the most noteworthy aspect of my experience has definitely been the amount of support that I've received as a summer associate, whether it's in drafting an LLC agreement or in organizing a donation drive to help those affected by the flooding here in Texas. They are just so willing to lend a helping hand and to help out and are just so supportive of my ideas.

Jontae Burton: I'm very intentional on giving back, and Holland & Knight really aligns with that value. I had the opportunity to help college-age students from Richmond, Virginia, go to the Hill and advocate on specific issues that are important to them. And Holland & Knight supported me on taking them there and giving them that opportunity, and gave me advice, actually, on how I can best facilitate those meetings to be able to give those students the best experience possible. And that just speaks to the importance of giving back and community service and mentorship that Holland & Knight fosters.

Matthew DegliObizzi: From day one, the firm and everyone in it has been very welcoming to the summer associates, whether it be at social events or sitting in the office drinking a coffee.

Ryan Cantrell: I was expecting to kind of just come in here, do my work and then get out, but I've had such a different experience with the people that I've met and the different interactions that I had. It's made coming to work really, really exciting, and I always look forward to getting to talk to my neighbors and getting to just chat with my practice group. It's been really fun.

T'arie Vincent: I've been able to work with a lot of different attorneys across different practice areas, and I've been paired with some wonderful mentors. And I also found that everyone, even not my assigned mentors, have been very welcoming and very helpful, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Morgan Lewis: I really wanted the opportunity to see what area of law I feel like I would fit in best and study across many practice areas just to gain that experience from the best attorneys.

Trevor Turner: I thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Holland & Knight. I am excited for my last year at law school, but I'm certainly bummed that I have to leave Tampa and leave Holland & Knight, and all the great people I've met so far for at least another nine months.

Grace Kruis: It's been nice to have peers that go to these great schools and are super friendly and to have them to kind of lean on and support as you experience this new city.

Felicity Wang: Most noteworthy aspect of the summer experience has just been getting to know fellow attorneys, summer associates and the staff particularly as well.

Grace Tinsley: I've met a lot of great people.

Grace Mohlin: Mentorship was a priority on day one.

Jontae Burton: Holland & Knight has made sure to give me an experience that I'll remember.
