What Comes Next After the Midterms?

Midterm Minute Video Series

The 2026 midterm elections may be over, but their impact on Congress and federal policy is just starting to take shape. In the final episode of Midterm Minute, Federal Government Affairs Practice Leader Paul Stimers reflects on Holland & Knight's most recent post-election webinar, highlights key issues facing the 120th Congress and previews a new industry-focused podcast series examining what the election results could mean for businesses and stakeholders.

Paul Stimers: Hi, everyone, and welcome to the final episode of Midterm Minute.

We recently hosted our midterm Post-Election Impacts and Insights webinar. Thank you to our panelists, former Congressmen Ron Klein, Tom Reynolds, Larry Bucshon and Jim Davis, for an insightful conversation. It brought perspectives from both sides of the aisle, and it was a strong way to close out the election.

We discussed a number of topics, including the lame-duck session and how Congress will likely proceed, the increase private companies will see in congressional investigations and topics likely to affect the 120th Congress.

Midterm Minute is wrapping up, but the conversation isn't. Next week, we're launching a new podcast series on the post-election landscape. Like Midterm Minute, each episode will focus on a different industry, from healthcare to energy to financial services. We'll look at what the election results mean for each sector and what to watch as the new Congress takes shape.

Thank you for watching Midterm Minute this election season.
