Real Estate attorney Andrew Starrels provided insight on Los Angeles zoning code and short-term rentals for a Law360 article following the decision in the The People of the State of California vs. Venice Suites LLC et al. court case.
"It remains to be seen how broad the impact is. What this underscores is how antiquated our zoning ordinances are," said Mr. Starrels. "You look through this whole code, and there's nothing that says you can, and nothing that says you can't."
He added that this court decision has "created visibility and discussion, about...what the future is for short-term rentals."
