Many lawyers are adopting artificial intelligence technologies to make their practices more efficient and effective. Holland & Knight uses AI programs in drafting contracts such as merger and credit agreements. The AI program is able to filter through contracts and pick out ones with specific words or phrases.
“People think automation and they think job force reduction, but I see it as I’m freeing up lawyers to do better things,” said Partner Joe Dewey. “The automation is geared toward eliminating process-level repetitive work that doesn’t really require a law degree."
