Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld takes first place in revenue rankings for lobbying firms for the third quarter of 2019. Business interests are pushing hard for Congress to approve the Trump Administration's tariff strategy and trade deal with Mexico and Canada. The continued lobbying efforts for the GOP tax law and the Trump Administration's deregulation efforts have also been areas driving business.
"Tariffs will sort of be the gift that keeps on giving. Ongoing congressional investigations are also padding profits, though the legal work associated with them typically doesn't have to be reported as lobbying revenue," said Public Policy and Regulation Attorney Rich Gold.
