Free Trade Hasn't Paid Off for Average U.S. Worker, Biden Should Find the Balance: Ex-Undersecretary of Commerce
International Trade Partner Francisco Sánchez spoke with The Sociable about the Biden Administration's trade priorities, both domestically and internationally. He opined that so far, globalization and free trade policies have not benefitted the average U.S. worker, adding that the administration is still trying to strike a balance between aiding American workers and attracting multinational companies. He also commented on the relationship between the U.S. and China, U.S. ties to the European Union and Biden's "Buy American" plan.
"I think where Biden is trying to find that balance is to have some policies that have the focus on the American worker, not just multinational corporations. That balance is still evolving in the Biden Administration," Mr. Sánchez said.
