Expert: Going For Celebrities Is Tax Strategy

Tax Partner Eugenio Grageda was cited in an article published by Milenio about how the strategic exhibition on behalf of the authorities of celebrities' non-compliance with tax obligations raises awareness among citizens in Mexico. Recently, singer Gloria Trevi and her spouse were accused of tax fraud of 40 million pesos by the Financial Intelligence Unit.
"These cases are always attractive because they are capable of generating awareness for the rest of the population, many other people can see themselves identified with the same type of unlawful acts and so can provoke spontaneous compliance in many taxpayers," he said.
