With Republicans on the Verge of Congressional Control, Science Is on the Line

The article says that Republican leaders plan to throw the spotlight on spending and transparency at health agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The article also notes that some conservative lawmakers have expressed concern about the amount of spending and exercise of federal power during the pandemicMr. Werner commented on what to look for in the aftermath of the elections.

Those probes are going to be "early, high-profile and a lot of noise,” said Mr. Werner. "Then the question will be: Can both sides put that aside and…work through substantive issues?"
