Litigation attorney Catalina Gutiérrez was mentioned in an Asuntos Legales article about a legislation that protects people's right to return items. This law, established in the Colombia Consumer Statute, allows consumers to return products from certain transactions if they meet stipulated conditions. According to Ms. Gutiérrez, this right applies to a variety of transactions, including timeshares, purchases with direct financing from the provider, non-traditional sales methods, as well as some promotional product transactions.
"In case of failing to comply with this right, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce can impose fines of up to 2,000 times the current legal minimum wage, following an administrative investigation," she said.
