Senior Policy Advisor Joseph Greenberg was quoted in a Reuters article about the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) newly reissued $900 million in federal funding aimed at accelerating the deployment of advanced small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). Mr. Greenberg emphasized the importance of aligning nuclear development with local priorities.
"[Nuclear project developers] recognise that to be successful they will want to address local needs such as workforce and community planning whether or not a specific community benefits plan is required," he said.
