Struggling to Stay Green in the Time of Trump
Energy and business attorney George Humphrey was cited in a Supply Chain Brain article analyzing the Trump Administration's approach to clean energy projects and how its shift from the Biden Administration's posture has affected project developers. The article recapped a panel in which Mr. Humphrey participated during the One Ocean Week conference in Seattle, Washington, focusing on how energy policy changes and a new energy dominance agenda have affected the maritime industry. From withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement once again to pausing permitting for wind projects to cancelling grants for state-level green energy projects, the pullbacks have left project participants domestic and international reeling and local initiatives scrambling to fill in the gaps. Mr. Humphrey, who co-chairs the firm's Energy Transition Group, commented that "it's been a sea change from the prior administration to the new administration" when it comes to this field.
