Michael Werner Joins Holland & Knight as Partner in the Public Policy Group in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Holland & Knight announced today that Michael Werner has joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Public Policy & Regulation Practice Group, with a focus on healthcare.

Werner is an expert in legislative, regulatory, and bioethics matters regarding health care delivery, life sciences and medical research. He specifically focuses on issues related to clinical trials and research, drug and biologics development, comparative effectiveness, PDUFA, as well as stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Werner has extensive experience lobbying Congress, negotiating with federal agencies, as well as executing and developing programs, public awareness campaigns, and business operations.

Werner has published numerous articles in a variety of publications and speaks frequently on issues such as stem cell research, FDA and drug approval and the business of science.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Werner was the president of The Werner Group, a bioethics consulting firm. Werner received his B.A., with distinction, from the University of Michigan, and his J.D. from The George Washington University.
