Adolfo Jimenez Appointed Chair of Holland & Knight's South Florida Litigation Practice Group
MIAMI – January 31, 2011 – Holland & Knight announced that Adolfo Jimenez, a partner in the firm's Miami office was appointed chair of Holland & Knight's South Florida Litigation Practice Group by Managing Partner Steven Sonberg.
The firm has approximately 60 litigators in its Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach offices practicing in the areas of complex commercial litigation, class actions, appeals, international litigation and arbitration, securities litigation, product liability, white collar and enforcement defense, labor and employment, alternative dispute resolution, and media law.
Jimenez will succeed John Hogan, who will assume the position of Section Leader of the firm's National Litigation Section. Jimenez is also the team leader for Holland & Knight's International Litigation and Arbitration Team and previously served as the Professional Development and Recruiting Partner overseeing Holland & Knight's training and attorney development programs, associate compensation, recruiting, mentoring, evaluations and partnership admissions process. Boston partner, Deb Barnard, will assume responsibility of these areas in her new position as Professional Growth and Development Partner.

In addition to having extensive litigation and trial experience, Jimenez has extensive experience representing clients in civil court and arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the China International Trade and Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). He also practices in the area of media law with emphasis on Spanish language media. Jimenez is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, South Florida Legal Guide and Florida Trend's Legal Elite as an outstanding attorney in the areas of international arbitration, commercial litigation and international trade and finance.
Jimenez is the contributing editor of the Litigation section for LatinLawyer Online magazine. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Cuban American National Foundation and heads Georgetown University's Latin American Alliance.
The firm recently made a number of high-profile promotions within management. Boston Partner Deb Barnard will become the firm's new Professional Development & Recruiting Partner; Tampa Partner Mike Chapman will become the firm's General Counsel; and Miami Partner John Hogan was named head of the firmwide Litigation Section.
