Tammy Knight Named Among Most Influential Business Women in South Florida

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – July 30, 2012 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Tammy Knight, a partner in the firm's Fort Lauderdale office, has been named one of the 2012 Most Influential Business Women by the South Florida Business Journal.

Each year, the Business Journal selects 25 women from the business community for going "above and beyond in achieving for our community and for their companies." The 2012 honorees will be recognized at a luncheon on Sept. 13 at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale.

In addition to representing clients in corporate, securities and franchise law, Ms. Knight serves as National Chair of the Holland & Knight Women’s Initiative. The Women's Initiative is a multifaceted program that encourages leadership and helps grow the law practices of the firm's more than 300 women attorneys. One of the Initiative's goals is to advocate for policies, programs and benefits that help the firm’s women attorneys succeed.

In the community, Ms. Knight served on the Board of Directors of Women Executive Leadership (WEL) from 2005 to 2012 and currently sits on its census committee. WEL is a Florida-based organization with the mission of increasing the number of women on corporate boards and in the executive suite. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Children’s Harbor, a nonprofit organization which provides residential services for foster children.

To further the Miami professional landscape, Ms. Knight is currently participating in a committee to bring InvestFlorida to Miami this year. The InvestFlorida Equity Conference brings together CEO’s and CFO’s of public companies with regional and Wall Street fund managers, analysts and financial professionals to discuss economic issues affecting Florida and the nation.
