"Life Itself" premieres at Sundance Film Festival on January 19 and will appear on CNN as well.
CHICAGO (January 15, 2014) - Holland & Knight served as financing and production counsel for the making of a documentary on the life of film critic, Roger Ebert. Mr. Ebert passed away in April 2013.
Entitled "Life Itself," the documentary will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, one of the most prestigious showcases for new movies, on January 19. Independent filmmaker Steve James and Kartemquin Films, both Holland & Knight clients, collaborated on this project. Another recent film from Kartemquin, "The Interruptors," also directed by Mr. James, won an Emmy in 2013. "Life Itself" will appear on CNN on a date yet to be announced.
Holland & Knight lawyers Robert Labate and Joi Thomas negotiated the necessary financing and production contracts for the documentary, as well as the airing rights on CNN.
