Holland & Knight Earns Gold Standard Recertification from Women in Law Empowerment Forum

MIAMI (June 19, 2014) - For the fourth year in a row, Holland & Knight earned Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) for its achievement in providing women attorneys with opportunities for financial success and positions at the highest level of firm leadership. WILEF's Gold Standard Certification Awards Initiative is the only initiative directed toward certifying and publicly recognizing eligible law firms that have met its criteria for empowering women attorneys.

In order to merit this honor, law firms must meet four out of six criteria that demonstrate women are represented within the firm's equity partner ranks, hold meaningful leadership positions within the firm, participate in partner compensation decisions, and have ample opportunities for financial recognition and reward. Law firms with 200 or more practicing attorneys in the U.S. were eligible to apply and 45 firms met the criteria.

"It is quite an achievement to receive recertification for the fourth year in a row," said Tammy Knight, chair of Holland & Knight's Women's Initiative. "Overall, it has been an exciting year for the firm. We expanded our maternity and adoption leave benefits and were honored for our Rising Stars® leadership program by Chambers. All of these achievements are evidence of our firm's continued commitment to its female attorneys."

In April Holland & Knight received the "Most Innovative Gender Diversity Award" from Chambers USA for the firm's innovative Rising Stars® program. The award is presented to the firm that has "excelled in introducing gender diversity and mentoring initiatives that have made a significant difference to the retention and promotion of female legal talent."
