Holland & Knight Honored as “Law Firm of the Year” in Admiralty & Maritime Law and Transportation Law by U.S. News – Best Lawyers
MIAMI (November 1, 2017) – Holland & Knight has been named “Law Firm of the Year” in admiralty & maritime law and transportation law by U.S. News – Best Lawyers in its 2018 “Best Law Firms” rankings. This is third time that the firm has received this honor in the admiralty & maritime category and the second time in the transportation category in the past five years.
U.S. News – Best Lawyers selects only one firm in each of the more than 70 nationally ranked practice areas to receive this prestigious recognition. The rigorous evaluation process included the collection of client and lawyer evaluations and peer reviews from leading attorneys in their fields. Only those firms with the most impressive overall performance were chosen.
“We are proud of our long tradition of serving companies in the transportation industry and we thank our clients for this vote of confidence,” said Anita Mosner, co-chair of Holland & Knight’s Transportation and Infrastructure Industry Sector Group and deputy chair of the firm’s Aviation Team. “The transportation industry is a strategic priority for our firm. We have devoted – and will continue to devote – significant resources to ensure that we continue to serve our transportation clients to the best of our ability.”
“Our transportation practice has expanded significantly in recent years, and we anticipate continued growth as our clients face major business challenges as the industry enters a period of profound change,” added co-chair Christopher Nolan. “With greater depth and breadth of transportation industry knowledge and experience than any other law firm, we are uniquely positioned to help them with their increasing complex legal and regulatory needs.”
“We are extremely honored to be recognized as the premier law firm serving the maritime industry and deeply appreciative of our clients’ ongoing trust in us,” said Jim Hohenstein, leader of Holland & Knight’s Maritime Group. “This recognition is a tribute to the talent and dedication of our outstanding team of maritime attorneys, who provide clients comprehensive representation on a wide range of matters each year and help them to accomplish their business objectives.”
Holland & Knight is consistently recognized as a leading law firm in maritime law. The firm has one of the largest and most geographically diverse international maritime law practices in the United States. Its maritime attorneys have appeared before courts across the U.S. and have provided expert submissions to courts and maritime arbitration panels around the world. The multidisciplinary team includes former and retired officers in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Merchant Marine and U.S. Coast Guard, as well as leaders in national and local maritime organizations.
Holland & Knight has a long history of providing legal counsel to major sectors within the transportation industry. In addition to maritime, these include aviation, transit, freight rail, motor carriers and logistics, and intercity transportation. The firm represents the world’s leading transportation companies and service providers at nearly every point in the supply and distribution chains and helps them to deal with the myriad issues that have emerged in the industry.
