WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 14, 2018) – Holland & Knight was honored by the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County at its 30th Anniversary Pro Bono Recognition Gala held on May 12 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Holland & Knight was among three law firms honored with a Pro Bono Legacy Award recognizing the firm's substantial service over the past 30 years.
In 2015, Holland & Knight also won the Legal Aid Society's prestigious Law Firm Award. Numerous lawyers in the West Palm Beach office have handled pro bono cases in partnership with the Legal Aid Society and many have been recognized with pro bono awards over the years. Additionally, two of the firm's attorneys were inducted into the Legal Aid Society's Pro Bono Hall of Fame, including most recently, Jason Lazarus, in 2015.
"Holland & Knight has a strong tradition of serving our communities," said William Shepherd, executive partner of Holland & Knight's West Palm Beach office. "From our earliest days we have heard the calling of our profession to help those in need. Even though our practice has grown to a global one assisting clients with complex, sophisticated matters, we have never forgotten our role in the local communities we serve."
The Legal Aid Society was founded in 1949 with a mission of providing equal access to the judicial system to the disadvantaged living in Palm Beach County.
