Holland & Knight Advises GreenYellow Colombia S.A.S. in a $35 Million Green Loan for Energy Efficiency Projects with Grupo Éxito in Colombia

BOGOTÁ (October 24, 2023) – Holland & Knight advised GreenYellow Colombia S.A.S. on its latest financing round from Banco Santander S.A. On October 13, GreenYellow announced a new non-recourse green loan of $35 million (approximately 144 billion Colombian pesos) from Banco Santander for an energy efficiency portfolio with Grupo Éxito in Colombia.

GreenYellow is a French multinational energy company that helps clients lower their carbon footprint through solutions focused on energy efficiency and solar energy. Grupo Éxito, headquartered in Envigado, Colombia, and with stores all around the country, is South America’s leading food retail platform.

The funding will be used to finance 59 greenfield and brownfield projects within Grupo Éxito’s Retrofit portfolio, encompassing the modernization of several of its distribution centers through a solution called Utility as a Service in multiple stores. These projects will contribute to the reduction of Grupo Éxito’s carbon footprint, strengthen its supply chain infrastructure and improve its operational efficiency.
