Holland & Knight Strengthens Litigation Practice with Addition of Safwan Al-Amin in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON (October 8, 2024) – Holland & Knight has strengthened its nationally recognized litigation practice with the addition of Partner Safwan Al-Amin in Washington, D.C. Mr. Al-Amin's practice focuses on providing strategic advice on disputes as well as commercial and regulatory matters. He was previously with Squire Patton Boggs.

"Safwan has built a solid reputation with key decision-makers in governments in the Middle East and with senior attorneys of multinational companies operating in the region," said Kwamina Williford, practice group leader for the firm's Washington, D.C., Litigation Group. "His global perspective, particularly from his work in Washington, D.C., and the Middle East, will be a great advantage to our clients, and we look forward to the impact he will make at Holland & Knight."

Mr. Al-Amin has extensive experience in corporate and commercial transactions, federal civil litigation, public policy, and regulatory and legislative matters. He advises international clients across numerous industries, including government, oil and gas, natural resources, defense and aerospace, and food and beverage. He is also recognized for his experience with constitutional, administrative and legislative matters in Iraq. Previously, he practiced at international law firms in Dubai.

Mr. Al-Amin received an LL.M. degree from Yale Law School, an M.P.A. degree from Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and an LL.B. degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
