Holland & Knight Advises Inter-American Development Bank on $550 Million Credit Guarantee for the Republic of Argentina

NEW YORK (July 16, 2026) – Holland & Knight advised the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) as guarantor in connection with a $550 million partial credit guarantee supporting a $1.2 billion senior unsecured credit facility provided by certain financial institutions to the Republic of Argentina. The credit agreement was dated July 7.

Under the transaction, the lenders extended a $1.2 billion loan to Argentina in two tranches, including a $550 million Tranche B loan maturing in July 2036. IADB's partial credit guarantee covers the principal payment obligations of the Republic under the Tranche B advances, up to a maximum guaranteed amount of $550 million. The proceeds of the loan will be applied to support the Republic's national budget.

IADB's support is provided to the Republic of Argentina in the context of its support to the Republic's Security and Justice Proactive Policies Program (PROSEJUS). The IADB, a member of the IDB Group, is devoted to improving lives across Latin America and the Caribbean.
