Seasoned Energy Litigator John Meadows Joins Holland & Knight in Houston

HOUSTON (September 24, 2026) – Holland & Knight has bolstered its Texas Litigation Practice Group with the addition of John Meadows as a partner in Houston. His robust energy litigation practice includes tort, contract, regulatory, antitrust and property damage matters for producers. He was previously a partner with Steptoe & Johnson.

Mr. Meadows' practice focuses on significant litigation for national energy clients, including coal, oil, natural gas and renewable energy companies, and he has extensive experience in cases pertaining to shale development, contract defense, pipeline/transportation/storage fields, underground storage tank cases and petroleum refining lawsuits. In addition to these energy-related disciplines, Mr. Meadows routinely practices in other areas of litigation, including financial services, healthcare, state and federal regulatory litigation and mass tort injuries.

Prior to working in the legal field, Mr. Meadows worked in the C-suite for a federal technology subcontractor for the U.S. Department of Energy. He serves as a trustee of the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation and co-chairs the Oil & Gas Committee in the American Bar Association's (ABA) Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER).

Mr. Meadows received a J.D. degree from the University of Richmond School of Law, B.A. and Master of Public Administration degrees from Augusta University and a B.A. degree from Hampden-Sydney College. He is admitted to practice in Texas, Georgia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Washington, D.C.
