Overview
Erica Adams is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Miami office, where she primarily focuses her practice in the areas of land use and zoning law.
Ms. Adams regularly represents developers and other property owners before local governments and state agencies in obtaining permits and approvals. In addition, Ms. Adams has experience working with development teams, meeting with key constituencies, interacting with municipal staff and elected officials on Comprehensive Development Master Plan (CDMP) amendments, as well as working on zoning district boundary changes, variance applications and other matters in Miami-Dade County.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Adams served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Adalberto Jordan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
While in law school, Ms. Adams served on the Charles C. Papy Jr. Moot Court Board, where she competed at the national level in oral and written advocacy. She earned first place for Best Oralist at the Burton D. Wechsler National First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. She also was a member of the first-place team at University of Miami's interclass competition and was semifinalist at the school's John T. Gaubatz Moot Court Competition. In addition, Ms. Adams served as the executive events editor for University of Miami’s International and Comparative Law Review.
In 2023, Ms. Adams was selected to travel to St. Gallen, Switzerland, to participate in the LawWithoutWalls (LWOW) Sprint program. During this time, she served as a "student hacker," teaming with top developers and law students from around the world to design innovative solutions for the legal industry. She and her team designed a prototype solution to solve information-sharing challenges for one of the world's largest law firms.
