Overview

Jill Bustamante is a real estate finance attorney in Holland & Knight's Charlotte office. She focuses her practice on the representation of financial services companies, investment brokers and other lending institutions in a variety of commercial real estate and finance transactions.

Ms. Bustamante is well versed in advising clients in connection with the financing, acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial office buildings, shopping centers, hotels and industrial warehouses. She also is experienced in providing counsel regarding the tax concerns, environmental compliance, zoning and land use entitlement issues related to storage facilities, multifamily housing and other types of commercial properties nationwide. Ms. Bustamante represents national commercial mortgage-backed security (CMBS) and other fixed-income lenders on financing transactions involving sophisticated issues surrounding the capital markets industry, including cash management arrangements, ground leases, mezzanine financing, 1031s, defeasance, condominiums, multiborrower and multiproperty structures, tenants-in-common arrangements, and cross-collateralized/cross-defaulted, A/B Note and portfolio loan structures.

In addition to her real estate finance practice, Ms. Bustamante has also served as counsel in commercial litigation matters and represented landlords in landlord-tenant disputes in North Carolina.

Ms. Bustamante regularly represents lenders and third-party servicers on negotiation of nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements and servicing matters, including loan restructurings, splitting of loans, consents, condemnations, assumptions, defeasance payoffs, extensions, partial property releases, future advances, and other related matters.
