Overview
Paul Cicchetti is a New York real estate capital markets finance attorney, with extensive experience representing Wall Street investments funds, national and regional banks, and life insurance companies. His practice encompasses a wide range of real estate lending arrangements for both portfolio-balance sheet lenders and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) lenders. He advises on mortgage loan originations, construction loans, bridge loans, mezzanine loans, repurchase transactions, securitizations, sale-leasebacks and revolving lines of credit deals. Mr. Cicchetti also has extensive experience in connection with the work out and foreclosure of troubled loans for traditional banks, as well as securitized CMBS lenders and their special servicers.
In the beginning of Mr. Cicchetti's legal career, he spent almost 20 years as an in-house real estate assistant general counsel at a major national life insurance company in New York. This experience provided Mr. Cicchetti with a hands-on understanding of the legal needs and demands of an institutional real estate investor and mortgage lender.
Mr. Cicchetti also advises on real estate financing matters related to loan participations and intercreditor agreements, structured financing, loan servicing, workouts and foreclosures, and the disposition and acquisition of real estate projects. He has handled all aspects of financings, acquisitions, dispositions and development on major transactions involving commercial, retail, hotel, office, residential and mixed-use real estate projects.
