Overview
Alissa Kalinowski is a tax-exempt organizations attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office. Ms. Kalinowski focuses on advising public charities, private foundations and other nonprofit clients on regulatory, transactional and operational matters, including formation, governance, and grantmaking and compliance with grant programs, business activities, lobbying and political activities, and other requirements applicable to tax-exempt organizations.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Kalinowski practiced in the tax-exempt organizations group at a large Washington, D.C., law firm. She also brings transactional tax experience from prior roles focused on fund formations, financial products, securitizations, collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and other structured finance transactions.
While in law school, Ms. Kalinowski served as a senior articles editor of the Administrative Law Review. She also was a judicial extern to the Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and the Honorable Craig Iscoe of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
