Director of Media and Political Affairs

Overview

Aimee Steel Lubin has a distinct blend of experience in public affairs and political and legal strategic communications that spans more than 27 years in Washington, D.C. Her history includes positions on Capitol Hill and in senior roles at government relations and strategic communications firms.

Ms. Lubin is a member of the firm's Public Policy & Regulation Group (PP&R Group) and has a dual role as director of media and political affairs. In her political role, she is responsible for the daily oversight of the Holland & Knight Committee for Effective Government, where she plans the firm's political fundraisers for members of Congress, in addition to developing a recruitment and retention program for the political action committee (PAC), in conjunction with the PAC board. She also manages and provides strategy for several client PACs.

In addition to her political work, Ms. Lubin has spent several years developing and executing strategies to raise the visibility and increase brand awareness of the Public Policy & Regulation Group, which she began doing first as a consultant, then as head of the firmwide Public Relations Team, prior to joining the PP&R Group.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Lubin was a vice president at a leading public relations and public affairs firm  in Washington, D.C., where she developed and executed communications strategies for legal, international, corporate and association clients, and assisted in crisis matters for clients to help mitigate negative media attention. She also spent several years as director of communications at a leading bipartisan government relations firm , where she developed positive media placements in targeted publications to elevate the image of the firm, while doing similar work for select clients.

Ms. Lubin spent nearly six years on Capitol Hill as press secretary to former Rep. and Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), deputy press secretary for the late Sen. Arlen Specter (R/D-Pa.), and as legislative assistants for former Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-N.J.) and the late Rep. Jon Fox (R-Pa.).

Ms. Lubin has an extensive background in communicating complicated federal policy issues to a variety of audiences and a keen understanding of how media shapes public policy in the D.C. arena.
