Overview

Christopher R. Murphy is a financial services litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office, where he represents banks, businesses and financial institutions in individual and class action cases throughout the country. Mr. Murphy has extensive experience in matters involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and various other consumer protection and fraud acts in state and federal courts, and in arbitration.

Mr. Murphy also routinely represents and counsels clients in the areas of cryptocurrency, financial technology (FinTech), mortgage servicing, credit card and revolving lines of credit, auto finance, consumer debt buying, commercial debt collection and business contract disputes.
