Overview

Nicole A. Rang is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office and a member of the firm's Real Estate practice. Ms. Rang has extensive experience representing lenders and borrowers in a variety of real estate financing transactions. Her practice focuses on the representation of institutional lenders in commercial real estate financings, including the origination of commercial, construction, hospitality, multistate portfolio, multifamily and mixed-use mortgage loans and secured credit facilities. Her experience also includes the representation of lending institutions in connection with financing for clean and sustainable energy construction projects.  

Ms. Rang also represents financial institutions, servicers and special servicers in connection with collateralized loan obligations and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) trusts, distressed real estate loans and the disposition of commercial properties.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Rang represented clients in personal injury and medical malpractice cases, helping them attain justice and compensation commensurate with their injuries. She has also been an advocate for the 9/11 Community, assisting and advising survivors with claims to the Victim Compensation Fund and benefits from the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program.

Representative Experience

  • Represented a special servicer in connection with the sale of and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loan assumption for a New York City hotel property being sold out of bankruptcy
  • Represented an international banking institution in connection with a $200 million credit facility secured by a note-on-note financing and various equity pledges
  • Represented a major hospitality client in connection with a $40 million mezzanine loan for the redevelopment of a hotel property in New York City
  • Represented a major hospitality client in connection with a $30 million bridge loan to finance preliminary costs in preparation for renovations of a hotel in Orlando, Florida
  • Represented a special servicer in connection with the sale of a shopping center out of receivership
  • Represented a special servicer in a variety of CMBS modifications, discounted payoffs, forbearances and deed in lieu of foreclosure
  • Represented an investment fund in connection with a construction loan for the development of a green-energy hotel in New York
  • Represented a luxury cooperative residential building in New York City in connection with the refinancing of a mortgage loan with a national banking institution
  • Represented a luxury mixed-use condominium building in connection with an $82 million loan from a national banking institution
  • Represented a luxury residential condominium building in New York City in connection with a $35 million financing from a national banking institution
