Billie Jo M. Risheim is a labor and employment attorney in Holland & Knight's Denver office. Ms. Risheim focuses her practice on representing employers across the country in labor and employment disputes to achieve winning results.
Ms. Risheim has experience providing tactical, bespoke advice to employers regarding a wide range of issues. Her representative experience includes defending employers against single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, class and collective wage and hour actions, and whistleblower claims. Additionally, Ms. Risheim has experience suing individuals and entities on behalf of aggrieved employers. She frequently represents employers before administrative agencies, in state and federal courts, and in arbitration on a wide variety of claims stemming from the employment relationship.
In addition to litigating, Ms. Risheim often advises employers on discrete workplace issues, develops strong employment agreements, guides employers through all stages of reductions in force and related analyses, and develops robust workplace policies of all kinds.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Risheim was a labor and employment attorney for an international law firm in its Denver office. Previously, she was a judicial clerk for a judge at the Oregon Supreme Court, where she gained valuable insight into crafting compelling legal arguments.
While in law school, Ms. Risheim served as an executive editor of the Oregon Law Review.
