Overview

Robert W. Ross is an investigator in the Litigation Practice Group of Holland & Knight's Tysons office. Mr. Ross provides investigative, due diligence and corporate compliance support. He has professional investigative experience in both the public and private sectors, including more than a decade of private practice experience managing and conducting a broad range of investigative services for leading law firms, corporations and select individuals worldwide. He entered private practice after 26 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and extensive field investigative experience as well as key postings to the White House, United States Senate and as the FBI liaison to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Mr. Ross' services have focused on sensitive and complex litigation and transactional matters. He has helped provide solutions to a wide range of problems, including internal corporate investigations; commercial litigation; fraud (including business, healthcare, government contract and other fraud matters); investigations and prosecutions conducted by federal and state authorities; environmental issues; intellectual property matters; and other situations when attorneys and their clients need fact finding investigations.

He works closely with counsel and interacts with senior management; manages integrated investigative, audit and forensic resources to address investigative issues and objectives; provides comprehensive oral and written reports on investigative findings; and maintains an extensive network who facilitate a broad reach for experience, information and evidence from many locations around the world.

During his FBI career, Mr. Ross received multiple awards, commendations and letters of appreciation from the FBI, Attorney General, Congressmen, White House officials, United States Attorneys and members of the community.

Mr. Ross served in the United States Marine Corps. He attained the rank of captain and commanded Marine units of 50 to 250 personnel in Vietnam combat and other military situations and also served as a staff instructor at Marine Officer Training School.
