Overview

David Rusk is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Houston office. Mr. Rusk frequently represents clients in negotiating purchase and sale agreements, ground leases and space leases (office, retail and industrial) and related agreements. He advises real estate developers on all aspects of the development process, with an emphasis on large industrial projects and medical office buildings. Mr. Rusk also has significant experience in data center projects and has assisted in the development of multibillion-dollar hyperscale campuses.

Additionally, Mr. Rusk represents national and regional lenders in a variety of commercial financing transactions, including real estate loans, life insurance premium financings, stock-secured loans, and vessel acquisition and construction loans. He has significant experience documenting complex construction, permanent and bridge loans, both on a bilateral and syndicated basis. He also advises lenders in all aspects of the workout and foreclosure process.

  • Represented a national bank in connection with a $625 million loan secured by more than 20 industrial, retail and office properties across six states
  • Represented a Houston-based developer in connection with a $130 million loan secured by a 13-property industrial portfolio
  • Represented a Houston-based developer in connection with the sale of a $95 million four-property industrial portfolio
  • Represented a multinational convenience store chain in its Texas and New Mexico acquisitions, dispositions and ground leases
  • Represents a Houston-based developer in the acquisition and development of business parks and rail storage facilities in Texas and Louisiana
  • Represents a national private bank in loans to high-net-worth individuals, including real estate, premium finance and yacht transactions
  • Represents a Texas bank in structuring and documenting middle-market loans secured by real estate, accounts, inventory and marine vessels
  • Represents an S&P 500 real estate investment trust in the development of outpatient care clinics and related facilities
