Elizabeth Schoonover

Elizabeth Schoonover represents national charitable organizations in the capture and receipt of matured bequests, helping them secure the gifts donors intended for their missions. Based in Jacksonville, she is a member of Holland & Knight's Wealth & Tax Section and brings years of litigation experience in state, federal and administrative forums to her work for nonprofit clients.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Elizabeth served in the office of general counsel of a state agency, where she handled compliance and enforcement of environmental regulations. That government perspective, combined with her background as a litigator, informs the practical approach she takes when charitable beneficiaries need to resolve estate matters.

Elizabeth's commitment to the nonprofit sector extends to her community service. She serves on the board of directors of the Catholic Charities Bureau for the Diocese of St. Augustine and is the former president of the board of directors of the St. Augustine Family YMCA. This board-level experience gives her firsthand insight into the priorities of the charitable organizations she represents.
