Overview

Brooke Sizer is a corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's Houston office, where she focuses her practice on oil and gas matters, with a particular emphasis on upstream transactions. She has significant experience in acquisitions and divestitures.

Ms. Sizer assists clients in drafting and reviewing joint operating agreements, pooling and unitization agreements, deeds, assignments and other commercial agreements. Additionally, she advises on various issues associated with the exploration and development of oil and gas assets, as well as prepares original drilling title, acquisition and division order title opinions.

Ms. Sizer is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Representative Experience

  • Assisted in the representation of a multinational chemical company that operates in a variety of industries on the acquisition of a major tranche of an American exploration and production company's oil and gas assets in the Eagle Ford shale in south Texas for $1.4 billion
  • Assisted in the representation of a buyer in the acquisition of producing oil and gas assets in Ward County, Texas
  • Assisted in the representation of a seller in the divestiture of more than 20,000 net mineral acres in Roosevelt County, New Mexico
  • Assisted in the representation of a seller in the divestiture of producing oil and gas properties in the South Central Oklahoma Oil Province (SCOOP) play
  • Assisted in the representation of a seller in the divestiture of both developed and undeveloped acreage in East Texas
  • Assisted in the representation of a buyer in the acquisition of producing oil and gas assets in the Delaware Basin
  • Assisted in the representation of a seller in the divestiture of more than 20,000 net mineral acres in the Eagle Ford play in South Texas
  • Assisted in the representation of a buyer in the $15 million acquisition of producing properties in Burleson County, Texas
  • Assisted in the representation of a buyer in the acquisition of more than 6,000 net mineral acres in the Eagle Ford play in South Texas
  • Assisted in the representation of a buyer in the acquisition of approximately 7,000 net acres and 30 producing wells in the Eagle Ford play in South Texas
