Overview

Kristen M. Vigilant is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Atlanta office. Ms. Vigilant represents corporate and governmental clients in complex civil litigation and administrative law matters, with a particular focus on matters involving significant public policy and constitutional issues.

Ms. Vigilant represents local, national and international clients in federal and state courts nationwide in a diverse range of civil disputes. She has extensive experience defending corporations and governmental entities in complex commercial litigation, product liability actions, data privacy class actions and insurance coverage disputes, guiding clients at every stage from pre-suit strategy through appeals.

While in law school, Ms. Vigilant was editor-in-chief of the Law & Psychology Review and a judicial extern to the Honorable L. Scott Coogler of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

  • Represented a city development agency in an action arising from a real estate rights dispute, achieving favorable results at summary judgment and appeal stages
  • Represented an international hotel group in actions alleging breach of licensing contract, achieving favorable results in federal and state appeals
  • National counsel for an international home improvement retailer in product liability actions arising from the sale of herbicide and fabrication of stone countertops
  • Represented a healthcare provider in a data privacy class action alleging improper sharing of sensitive health information through online web tracking technologies
  • Represented national and local insurance companies in first-party and third-party insurance coverage pre-suit disputes, lawsuits and declaratory judgment actions involving bad faith and extra-contractual liability
  • Represented a healthcare provider as policyholder in insurance coverage disputes arising from cybersecurity, general liability, directors and officers, excess and umbrella policies
