Whistleblowing in the Intelligence Community: Legal and Practical Challenges

National Security, Defense and Intelligence Team leader Jason Klitenic will participate in an American Bar Association webinar examining whistleblowing in the intelligence community. The panelists will review whistleblower rights and protections as well as dive into the challenges that government and private sector counsel face when trying to validate and/or resolve whistleblower allegations, which include preserving anonymity, protecting classified information and balancing competing interests. They will also address questions about incentivizing individuals to trust whistleblower processes, "going public" with complaints and distinguishing whistleblowers from individuals who leak classified information.
