State Income Taxation of Trusts: Developments since Kaestner

Private Wealth Services attorney John Bunge is speaking at this year's National Association of State Bar Tax Sections (NASBTS) Conference. Mr. Bunge's panel, titled "State Taxation of Trusts: Developments since Kaestner," will take a closer look at the U.S. Supreme Court's 2019 decision in the Carolina Dep't of Revenue v. Kimberly Rice Kaestner case. More specifically, the speakers will analyze what has changed in the landscape for state taxation of trusts since the ruling. Attendees will also get a chance to learn about planning tools that have been made available under trust law to improve trust administration as a result of the decision.
