Eligibility for the ERC: Who CARES?
58th Annual Southern Federal Tax Institute
Atlanta, GA 30305
Tax attorney Daniel Strickland will speak at the 58th Annual Southern Federal Tax Institute about eligibility for the Employee Retention Credit (ERC). ERC is a refundable tax credit that was established through the CARES Act of 2020 to provide businesses relief from the economic impact of the pandemic. Although the ERC eligibility periods have ended, employers who qualified in 2020 or 2021 still have the ability to file claims for refund. This panel will discuss the nuances of the eligibility rules, applicable IRS guidance and areas of interaction between the ERC and other tax incentives.
Tax attorney Lee Meyercord will also speak at the institute on a panel titled "Self-Employment (SECA) Taxes Applicable to LLPs, Hedge Funds, Private Equity & Venture Capital."
