Madrid Energy Conference 2025

Partner José Vicente Zapata and Senior Policy Advisor Beth Viola, who lead Holland & Knight's Energy & Natural Resources Industry Sector Group, will participate in the 2025 Madrid Energy Conference. This premier event unites global and regional thought leaders for critical conversations on changes affecting the sector and policy developments and investment trends shaping local markets. Mr. Zapata and Ms. Viola will speak on the second day of the conference. He will moderate a discussion exploring the geopolitics of industrialization, focusing on China, the U.S and the European Union (EU). Speakers will also share insights on managing competitiveness amid global tensions and describe strategic opportunities for low-carbon solutions. Ms. Viola will serve as a panelist in a presentation aimed at addressing public perceptions of climate change and climate policy. They will dive into the Paris Agreement and EU's carbon border adjustment tax along with explain the idea of a non-linear energy transition.
