Blowing Up the 3rd Rail: CA 2025 Budget Delivers Long-Awaited CEQA Reform for Housing

West Coast Land Use and Environment attorney Ryan Leaderman will participate in a webinar hosted by People for Housing – Orange County exploring the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) reforms included in California's 2025 budget. These changes, introduced through Assembly Bill (AB) 130 and Senate Bill (SB) 131, aim to streamline the approval process for infill housing projects by expanding CEQA exemptions and consequently limiting the law's use for litigation potentially blocking these projects. During the program, Mr. Leaderman will provide insight into what these reforms mean for developers, local governments and housing advocates, as well as what to expect as the new rules take effect.
