West Coast Land Use and Environmental attorney Daniel Golub will join the San Joaquin Valley Housing Collaborative's 14th Annual Affordable Housing Summit for a learning lab about the various state planning and streamlining tools available to promote and manage the development of affordable housing. Mr. Golub will present alongside the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) about Housing Element requirements and how to obtain a pro-housing designation, along with updates on reporting, the housing accountability unit and other issues relevant for local government practitioners.

Additional topics to be covered will include streamlined entitlement pathways for affordable and supportive housing; California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance strategies for affordable housing; and other property issues, including the Surplus Lands Act and handling restrictive covenants. The session aims to provide meaningful tools developers and local government staff can utilize to advance affordable housing projects, including navigating entitlements, CEQA streamlining and state density bonus law.
