Energy & Natural Resources Industry Sector Group Leaders Beth Viola and José Vicente Zapata will participate in the 2025 La Jolla Energy Conference, hosted by the Institute of the Americas. The annual event, now in its 34th rendition, provides a space for discussions around the future of energy in Latin America and the Caribbean, from challenges confronting the region's energy sector to new technologies that can foster (or hinder) industry growth. With presentation topics ranging from grid reliability to artificial intelligence (AI) to natural gas and critical minerals, the conference promises a wealth of knowledge-sharing.
Ms. Viola will join a panel exploring geopolitical developments and their implications. They will look at globalization in a time of increased polarization, energy supply and demand trends, and how tariffs and trade wars are affecting regional supply chains, along with country-specific analysis of Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Canada. Mr. Zapata will moderate a session examining energy security, upstream developments, natural gas and the electric sector in Colombia and Peru.
