Circular 230 and Related Rules

Tax attorney Christopher Rizek will speak at the Conner-Zaritsky 47th Annual Advanced Estate Planning and Administration Seminar. The hybrid program will feature presentations on a variety of topics relevant for estate planning practitioners, including trends in tax and fiduciary duties, major developments in Virginia state law and effective valuation strategies. Mr. Rizek will focus on ethical and professional responsibility regimes that apply to trust and estate professionals, in particular Internal Revenue Code provisions, state bar or certified public accountant (CPA) licensing regulations, and Circular 230. He will explain how these rules affect aspects of daily practice, from conflicts and conflict waivers to fees and client funds to client confidentiality and privilege. He will also review proposed changes to Circular 230 and how any updates could affect future practice.
