Tax-Exempt Organizations and Philanthropy attorneys Alexandra Mitchell and Jonathan Blum will speak at Georgetown University Law Center's 2026 Conference on Representing & Managing Tax-Exempt Organizations. The two-day conference will gather leaders, advisors and other professionals in the nonprofit and tax-exempt sector to talk about challenges organizations are facing, including changes in tax laws and regulatory updates, as well as exchange ideas and solutions and build new relationships. Ms. Mitchell and Mr. Blum will present on fundraising strategies and compliance with fundraising rules. They will summarize state and federal frameworks governing charitable fundraising before describing common fundraising structures and revenue-generating arrangements, such as sponsorships, auctions and cause-related marketing. They will additionally cover restrictions on donors, managing endowments and options for foreign fundraising, along with other compliance questions that may arise in connection with fundraising activities.
