Native American Law attorney James Meggesto will participate in the Sovereignty Symposium XXXVIII in Oklahoma City. Hosted by the Oklahoma City University School of Law, the annual program is a leading forum for discussions about legal and policy issues affecting Tribal nations and communities. This year's theme, "250 Years Later: Sovereignty, Survival and Self-Determination," will guide conversations on a wide range of issues in Indian Country, including economic development, healthcare, cultural preservation, environmental policy, self-determination and jurisdictional challenges. Mr. Meggesto will examine emerging legal issues affecting Tribal gaming operations. Taking the audience "beyond the casino floor," he will provide updates on regulatory and policy developments shaping the broader industry alongside analysis of their specific implications for Tribal government and Tribal sovereignty.
