Prior Consultation in Colombia: Current Challenges and Regulatory Perspectives

Public law and litigation attorney Juan Casallas will lead a webinar hosted by the Colombian-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Colombia) on the current challenges and regulatory perspectives surrounding prior consultation in Colombia. Juan will examine the current landscape of this mechanism, the principal legal and practical challenges affecting its implementation for businesses, communities and government entities, as well as initiatives and proposals aimed at strengthening its effectiveness. He will also discuss recent legislative efforts to promote greater regulation of the process and their potential impact on the various stakeholders involved in project implicating prior review.
