Midyear Review: Analyzing the Colombian Mining Sector

Mining attorney Estefanny Pardo presented a radio program in partnership with La Voz Minera EMG titled "Minería al Día con Estefanny Pardo." In this episode, Ms. Pardo analyzes the Colombian mining landscape halfway through 2025, highlighting the sector's progress and challenges under the current administration. She discusses the implementation of temporary reserves and protected areas without clear technical studies, as well as the contradictory policy of designating zones for mining formalization while simultaneously restricting formal mining activities. Additionally, she reflects on the community's positive perception of the coexistence among the mining, agriculture and tourism sectors, as well as identifies the challenges for legal certainty and the sector's competitiveness in the country.
