Mining Bill Project
Mining attorney Estefanny Pardo presented a radio program in partnership with La Voz Minera EMG titled "Minería al Día con Estefanny Pardo." In this episode, Ms. Pardo examines the bill "Mining Law for a Just Energy Transition, National Reindustrialization and Mining for Life," highlighting structural changes from the current regime: the loss of mining's general public utility status (now subject to criteria and the authority's decision), expansion of zoning categories (suitable, excluded and restricted) and 26 criteria for delineating areas that could increase legal uncertainty and deter investment. She also describes the effects on easements, permitting and project continuity in light of new exclusion zones or overlaps with special territories.
